Cool A few audio questions..

Im picking up my CG/6MT TSX tomorrow and I would like to put my old system in, I have a Alpine 9835 HU that I was told wouldnt work, a 10" JL W7, JL 500/1, and a spare yellow top because my jetta was half retarded and needed 2 yellow tops to run smoothly. Will I have any problems putting the W7 and the 500/1 in with a yellow top in the front and have to worry about the lights flickering etc.. And one more question, to thoes of you with systems in a brand new tsx, how are the rattels if your picky, I have a feeling im gunna be loading up a dynamat again.
Thanks.

The 05 TSX door panels are assembled differently than the 04. THere are more screws, fewer plastic welds, more felt padding, etc. I ahve been told by an owner of a 04 and then an 05 that the 05 was MUCH quieter.

If you want the Alpine HU it goes in the pocket above the NOT AN ASHTRAY, but IMO you have little need for it unless you can take advantage of the time correction.

The Yellow top fits IF it's a Honda size, not the full size (don't remember what fits the Jetta).

Wait so theres no reason my 9835 shouldnt fit in the TSX, someone told me it wouldnt work with acura because the way they wired it. And yes I can take advantage of the time correction thats one of the reasons why i want it with my sub.

You need the Acura mp3 attachment kit. It's kinda pricey though. Runs for about 70 + shipping if you buy through a Acura dealer on Ebay.

Here's the Acura part number: 08B06-SEC-210

Here's a couple of pics too from another members install. Just like Eld said though, make sure that you definitely need the alpine. Does it have mp3 playback?

mp3 play back just meaning its a hu that plays mp3's yes, another reason that I want to use this hu is because I want to use the time correction function that it has.

1) I think the OEM HU is great. The only thing you can get with some of the aftermarket HUs is MP3 file playback and time correction. But for SQ< the OEM HU is damned good.

2) You'll have rattles. You'll do it anyway, and then you'll start chasing them. We all do that : )

Ha screw chasing them I'll cover thoes bastards with dynamat and anger. Im not sure if the time correction and the mp3 player is worth it but I think I'll just put the sub/amp in for now. Thanks

Yeah, Eld is correct though, the newer HU's in the TSX and TL's are pretty damn good when it comes to SQ.

Well another option for you is to just connect the Alpine deck up to the AUX input of the TSX factory HU. This way you'll have the mp3 playback at least and your Alpine won't go to waste.

yeah that a good point, but if he plans on hookin' up an amp and sub later, then wouldnt it just be better to use the Alpine as the main HU and then have the stock HU in the alpine's aux input?

Good point man. It's more complex to set it up this way, and you would lose any steering wheel controls, but I think it would sound better.

True. Steering wheel controls, a luxury that we have grown attached to...
