Factory speakers with aftermarket HU on 2002 tl.
Ok, the point of my question is not whether it will or not but more on how will it sound?
I love the way the Bose system sounds (sub could be a little more beefy but otherwise im very impressed with the clarity), but im a technology geek and I hate how 1999 the head unit is.
Anyway my options are
A) Change for a new pioneer or eclipse HU with navi.
B) Go with a car PC solution and either change the head unit anyway, and replace with a screen or figure out a way of mounting a touch panel elsewhere (ideal poping out of the tray in the dash, although custom fabricating that may be out of my league).
or
C) would be to relocate the factory HU and with icelink or something just use it as a line in to interface with the existing setup and play nice with whatever I decide to do. Obvious setbacks, mad pointless wiring job, I'll lose the ability to set fade and balance while in the car (HU will probly be in the trunk).
Anway if anyone has attempted to solve this issue, please let me know.
Ill finish off with a couple of dumb questions... I take it the sub amp is not built into the factory HU, is the speaker amp? If not has anyone just hooked up a new head unit to it via line out?
