Factory Head Unit Error Codes
Thanks to Silverknight, I finally got my factory head unit re-installed, but now I am getting error codes on the CD. The code reads ER-E1, and the screen, when CD is pushed, reads "CHEC". I also cannot load any CD's. Can someone tell me what the codes mean, or what the problem may be? Thanks

Your CD Changer is stuck. You can try to kill the battery, then put your radio code back in, but chances are the radio is toast. Time for Acura to give you a new one.

Dayum! All that work splicing wires and locating a new harness, and nothing. Thanks JasonT! Since I bought this at a salvage yard, I don't think that Acura will replace the radio. Hopefully the salvage yard will have another one. Do you know if anyone can fix something like that?

Worst part is, you won't get your cd's back from acura until they ship it back. 9-10 weeks!

Did they fix it or send you a new one? I am thinking about going completely aftermarket if it costs too much to fix.

CD Changer
Fellas,
I found a place in VA Beach that is a Pioneer service shop. They said that they can fix the factory radio for $35 to $135 max. I am going to take it to them today. Only thing is that they need the factory harness to plug into the back of the radio for testing. DAYUM! I just spliced all the wires to put it back in, now I gotta cut it back out again! I'll let you know what happens after they look at it.
Peace

This thread is 6 years old and the person you are asking the question to hasn't been on the site since 2003. Doubt you'll get a answer but i'll search around and see if I can find something.
