Electronics install question

Is a good crimp as good as a good solder joint? I've heard differing views depending on who I talk to. This will be for main power to my Basslink.

Thanks in advance

The durability of solder joints has no comparison to crimping, butt connectors, splicing, or otherwise. But you can get away with doing such things because, unless there's a high tolerance of failure, the latter material will do the job just fine.

a butt connector will do just fine... you can tape over the joint and should never have to worry about it.
