dvd Play with 2 monitor (help on outputs)
#2
2 ways to do it. When you buy your monitor see if the hide away box for the monitor has extra outputs most do for another monitor. If they don't check the monitor itself for outputs for another monitor. Use can buy a add on box with you can control all your video if things get complicated also.

I'd just get a multi output video amp (around $50 or so) and all you do is plug the one output from you DVD player into it and there are multiple outs for other monitors...the one I have in the BMW has 7 outputs on it and they are amplified to keep the same overall signal strength going to each monitor.

If its only for 2 monitors then just use a RCA splitter. They cost like 3 bucks. I had that setup for a while. You wont lose video signal. If you have more than 2 monitors then you need a video amplifier like Streeteffectz said. I have one thats good for 9 monitors but I only have 5.

Let's say you were forced to make a decision, would you....
A) Purchase a video amp and split the video output signal from your DVD plater
or
B) Simply run the 2nd rear monitor off the output from the 1st rear monitor (given that you have high quality monitors which contain video outputs)
Let me know,
Mike

You could make each monitor play something different. PS2, Xbox, DVD player, rear view cam, etc.

By chance do you remember the name of the company that manufactured the product you're describing?
Thanks for all your input,

The unit was made by Icon. Send an e-mail to info@streeteffectz.com and explain to them what you want to do. You can probably get a better deal since they have very competitive pricing. I got mine from a local stereo shop (stupid). You can check them out some of Ron's work at www.streeteffectz.com
Keep in mind a system like that requires a lot of wiring. It's not hard to do, but it can get confusing. Just keep your cool and plan it all all before.

Okay. Try the Y-splitter and see what happens. If you lose video quality purchase the unit. The Y-splitter is only like $3 from Radio Shack so it won't hurt to try. Good luck and let us know what happens.
