DVD install...

Hey, I wanted to ask a question about installing DVD into our cars. Many headunits will not let you run the DVD player while driving or in gear. Does anyone know how you can bypass this?

If anyone does please let me know.

Thanks,
Eric

Use a PAC TR-7 or on some you can ground the e-brake wire on the unit or for an Alpine use a combination of 2 switches to unlock the unit.

most safety wires are to be connected to either the foot brake or emergency brake (or both in case of alpine), but these systems work on ground (emergency brake) or positive feed (foot brake). you don't necessarily have to wire them to the actual brakes...a switch will work the same. this is how you get around the safeties.

I have an Alpine CVA-1005 and my installer was able to by-pass the parking brake feature using only one switch.

There's multiple ways of doing it..when I had my CVA in my Neon I hooked the foot brake up( like normal) and then wired one on off switch for the parking brake wire.
