DVC Subs
No. With four 4-ohm voice coils:
- you can go series parallel (4 and 4 in series is 8, those two pair 8 and 8 in parallel is 4)
- you can go parallel parallel (4 and 4 in parellel is 2, 2 and 2 in parallel is 1)
- you can go series series (4 and 4 in series is 8, 8 and 8 in series is 16).
But 2 total? Not so much.

to get a 2 ohm mono load out of 2 subs with dual voice coils you need to subs with either dual 2ohm coils or dual 8 ohm coils.
with the dual 2ohm ones - series on the sub to get it up to 4 ohm then parallel the two subs together to get it back down to 2 ohm
or with the dual 8 ohm ones - parallel on the sub to get it down to 4 ohm then parallel the subs together for a final load of 2 ohms.

can someone explain what the difference is b/w single and dual voice coils is and what advantages/disadvantages there are? what does wiring in parallel and series do? yes yes im a

dual voice coil woofers give more wiring flexibility than single in getting to a given impedance. This is important to retailers since stocking multiple impedances is expensive.
but there is no inherent superiority in SQ or in durability in going with DVC woofers. There is a school of thought that says that seriesing VC's hurts performance and lowers damping facotr, but it's largely opinion to many people. I'm not taking either side.
I will say that some amps don't sound that good at 2 ohms bridged even though they don't shut down... but it's usually pretty obvi which ones will suck ahead of time.
