Cassette HU for another vehicle

This is for another vehicle of mine (94 Previa) and not for the TL but I need to get a replacement HU because I just replaced all 4 speakers from factory to 5 1/4 Infinity Reference 5002i. I feel that the OEM factory paper cone speakers had better bass so I feel like my JVC HU is plain shitty.

Someone told me that Sony HU's are great for internal Bass, is this true? I'm pretty much game for all opinions, basically this is just a beater car so dont want to go too crazy with amps and subs, just a decent amount of bass, right now it sounds horrible (as if I have a bunch of tweeters hooked up).

I need cassette and CD so I'm going to just get a Cassette reciever and add a CD changer so please advise. Thanx!

The model I was told to get: Sony Xplod

And here is a Comparison Chart

After seeing the comparison chart, Sony seems to be the best, but from what I read here everyone hates Sony.. so I am confused now.

LOL, I'm not a big fan of Sony either, but everyone is going to have their own opinions. I have a couple of JVC packages that we sell a lot of for people wanting exactly what you want, or they are selling the car, just want basic tunes...whatever. It's a cassette headunit w/a cd changer, the entry level combo is like $230 for both pieces, and the next one up is like $260 for both pieces.

Can you give me the model numbers on these so I can see them. I'm not expecting it to sound like my TL, but right now is horrible. My factory setup sounded better, which is what is bothering me!! I didnt think JVC was a good brand to go with after what I have right now. Thanx.

If this is the egg-shaped Previa, the dash speakers will NEVER have good bass. They have a lousy central mounting location.

I ended up going with 5.25's in kick panels, and 2 10"s in the back. Ran the OE speaks as a center channel.
