Door lock hookup on 97?

On a aftermarket alarm, what wires do you hook up? I am using the door unlock/lock wires at the factory alarm, but it isn't working. Any help? Thanks!

I used wires at security module. Make sure the wires from aftermarket security produce negative output, because that's what our cars use for open/closing doors.

Did you use the lock/unlock wires, or the motor lock/unlock? I hooked them up to send a neg. output, but it doesn't work. The factory system has both to choose from.

I used lock/unlock wires. Have you tested that the negative comes in on those wires?

Maybe I am hooking them up to the wrong ones. I have a schematic. I tested it last night, and the factory alarm still locks/unlocks the doors with the wires I hooked up to disconnected from the factory alarm. What are the colors you are using? Thanks for the help so far!

lock should be red/yellow and unlock should be red/blue, both are at the security module under the passenger seat......don't worry about the wires for the lock motor.....they're only used if you're wiring up for priority door locks

Figured it out. I had cut the wires to the factory alarm, then hooked up to them. You have to leave them connected to complete the circuit. Thanks for all the help though!
