Don't Laugh
OK, here is my question. If I have mp3's that I downloaded, can I burn those to a CD (CD-R or CD-RW?), and play the cd in the stock 2000 TL CD player, or do I need to convert the mp3's to a different format? Thanks for your help!

if you have a burner and it came w/burning software, like ez cd creator or nero, then you can simply pick to burn an audio cd and it will convert the mp3s to audio format for you...

I think systek misunderstood what you meant "Thanks for all the help. Can I use a CD-RW or do I have to use a CD-R? " You meant a CDR disc or a CDRW disc right? Well I've played CDRW discs in most standard CDROM players to date...though I haven't tried in the factory stereo. The best way to find out is try it
However, nowadays most CDRWs can be read in stock CDROMs as long as they are burned in the correct format, closed, etc.

I would just stick with a CDR disk. They are still reasonably cheaper than CDRW disks. And you are almost gauranteed compatibility with almost all CD players. If you want to play MP3 burned cd's, Kenwood and some other car audio manufacturers make MP3 players that play cd's burned with MP3's on them. The stock stereo just cant do that. It would be totally awesome if it could!! I wish!!

Although CD-R is less expensive, it would be nice to have a CD-RW that you could use all the time.. I'm doubting the ability of the BOSE HU to play CDRW discs..
Just replace the songs on there as you like...
better yet, get a HD based mp3 player like the NEO one.. :wow:
