Doms NAV2DVD Installation

Hi Guys,

I just registered but been reading posts for a while now when researching about cars and stuff..so decided to get a acura tsx 06 and loving it as hell!!!

I just ordered Dom's unit and the Mryon AD212 dvd player. I work alot and hence, dont have much time to do it myself, plus I am a pure noob when it comes to cars.
So i was gonna take it to the audio shops here in the area and ask them about doing the install for me.

What are some tips you can give me so that I can pass it on to them for the setup.
I am planning to put Dom's unit in the right-side kick panel, have the switch next to the VSA, put the dvd player in the compartment above the "NOT AN ASHTRAY", and also have the audio sent to the auxiliary input. I don't like the idea of having my audio go all the way to the center console for the aux input, is there another way?

Thanks and much appreciated!

oh yea..two more questions.
1) If i put the sound from the dvd player to the aux input, on my navigation, should the aux menu be chosen?
2) Do I lose my XM radio because of this new configuration?

Thanks.

Sorry, the TSX confuses me, you may need the SHOND3 to keep XM but I have no clue.. And the auxillary is normally chosen on the stereo by hitting the cd button twice but again I have no clue..

There's a bunch of guys with the TSX that have done the install.. Maybe search for some of their threads..

Okay thanks. I can live with no having XM for now until i get that other adapter. So I am guessing that it is the dvd audio output from the headphone jack that would go into the aux instead of the yellow and red wire from it.

I been searching threads for the past week and stuff,, but couldn't get some of my questions answered.

Thanks!

broadster-follow that aux line fromt he armrest back to where the compartment is and tap in to it there if ya want to save some cash. You can always just unbolt it from inside the armrest and re-route it back under the "not an ashtray" compartment.

Not sure what you mean

--------------------------

My goal is to make the whole setup appears as if the way factory would do it.
So I got the dash-kit for an in-dash player.
No, nothing goes into the glove box or armrest box for me thanks.
Converter switch is to be right next to the player so that my passenger can reach it.
Right now I'm going thru a big catalog trying to decide on a small nice looking switch to replace that ghetto toggle switch.

Sorry. I guess what I was trying to say was that I didn't want the audio wire sticking out and being visible from the outside. I didn't realise you could wire it from the inside.

I just called one of the local audio shops and he was asking me for 3 bills for the install..wtf!! I am not that knowledgable when it comes to cars...are there any installers in the philly area? I live outside of philly(30 minutes) north.

Since I got the PNP of Dom's unit, I would have to install the unit in the trunk rather than the right-side kick panel right?

Thanks all!
