does a subwoofer box w/2x12" subs affect performance/increase engine stress?
does a subwoofer box w/2x12" subs affect performance/increase engine stress?
Hi, assuming that the box and subwoofers weight 50lbs in total? Maybe maximum 80lbs.. Is this enough to affect the car since it is only a commuter car - just a a driver in the car?
Would the subwoofer box cause the car to pull to different sides if the box was place more towards one side than the other?
Thanks for your help.

not a major difference, but you are adding weight, so there will be some sort of minimal effect. if you're only talking about 50lbs or so, no big deal.
when you start getting into major systems, then you have to worry about the added weight affecting the rear suspension and causing the a$$ to drop

My car has stock height suspension with the 2x12" subwoofers, in a box of course, the suspension in the rear looks like it is lowered, say 1"-1.25". Should I worry?
Thanks.
Yes you should be worried. Think about it when you have people sitting in your back seat. Somethings not right.
I noticed my car move slightly in the back when my 170 lb friend got out of my back seat. The car is maybe an 1/8 " lower with people sitting in the back.
You should take your car in to check your suspension, maybe you need new shocks.
80 lbs should not make your car sag in the back....
Dont get pullies and you should be fine when it comes to performance... An extra person (150lb) in my car causes me to lose about a half a car distance when racing... so compare what 80 would do... barely anything
