i believe that the deck is actually a passive unit, meaning that the bose amp has all of the power and the deck pushes no watts at all. that's what i've been told by some audio junkies. watts for speakers ????

You mean to tell me that there is a seperate amp that is pushing the speakers and not the headunit?
and if so where is this amp located?

doesnt sound correct to me, i might be wrong.

could use a line out converter and pull the signal from your back speakers instead of the deck. i did this originally, but ended up frying my amp though. i think the converter i bought really sucked though because other people on this site has had success this way.

holy geeze... =\ the amp is in the trunk pushin 25wRMS to each speaker. I did my remote turn-on on the ignition, so when the key goes to aux or on, the amp turns on. the amp is located right under the jack... you can push 75w rms to the stock speakers for a while until they blow out. I have a friend that's been doing that for about two months now. Just make sure you havce new spkrs ready when the stock ones go POP! You'll definately want to use a line out converter then just get some t-taps to tap into the speaker wire. The bazooka might actually have a built in high input... check it out. If it does... then you dont need a converter. I know the basslink is like this.

Thanks everyone for all the help so far....
Here is what I want with my music...
1st off, I want to limit my music spending to under $500
I actually find the BOSE system to sound pretty good, Im not into loud systems with crazy sounding base. I do want some more bass, some equalization and a lil bit of more speaker volume so what I had come up with was to purchase these two items.
One of them which I already ordered and have sitting at my job.

1. Bazooka 10" 150watt Powered tube subwoofer
http://www.bazooka.com/productAutoAm...BTsRS.asp?id=6

and this kenwook EQ/Amplifier for equalization and also providing 40watts to my front & rear speakers.
2. http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/pr...e&productId=93

I think that this will accomplish my goal of only wanting a lil more bass and a lil more volume without having to spend over $500 and without having to replace speakers or HU.

I did not know that the BOse system used an amp hidden in the rear. Will I have an issue installing the two items that I have chose to purchase and what are your guys opinions?

Thanks.
