Does the '04 non-navi have pre-amp outs?

No, right? Was searching, and it looks like I need to use a hi/lo convertor.

If I do though, am I just tapping into one of the rear speakers? And if so, will it lose some power as a result? I ask, beause I just want to add a self powered 10" bazooka, and am keeping th rest of the stock system, and it'll bother the heck outta me my rear speakers are at different volumes.

thanks,
4wj

The rear speakers will not be at different volumes. Just tap into them using a hi lo converter an that will work fine. That is how I have mine setup.

Good Luck!

But will they stay the same volume if I tap into just one speaker?

Than each other (left and right rear speakers). I only need one input because I want to run one sub in mono. Therefore, I only need to tap into one speaker, but still keep the speaker I tap into along with all other oem speakers because.

One speaker will be left all alone (Left Rear), and he other tapped into the hi/lo convertor (Right Rear). Sooo... will the Right Rear speaker lose any audible volume compared to the Left Rear?

Is this making sense now?

You are asking if inserting a Line Output Convertor decreases the volume of the speaker?

I'd think not, but never tried it. THe Bazooka has a L and R input, right? The LOC has L and R inputs, right? Just tap both and get the extra 3dB of signal into the amp.

Changed my mind...

Actually, I've decided to buy a Sony XM-DS1300P5 amp (bridgeable, 400w RMS x 1 @ 2ohms), and a 10" Infinity Perfect DVC Sub (350w RMS), and stick that puppy into a ported box.

The Sony amp has high-level inputs, should be exactly what I need.

I could get the amp for $118 ahipped, and the sub for $122 shipped, which ends up being just a smidge more than I was going to pay for the Bazooka. (I already have the sub box from a previous installation).

Great...man! To be honest, I don't really like the way Bazooka tubes sound. It just isn't loud enough for me. I think you'll be happier going with the seperate amp and sub like you are.

I'm a little confused....on Elduderino's sticky about the TSX audio sys states the following....

3) What about the Amplifier?

The HU has two full-range preamp outputs to the OE amp, which is almost directly under the NOT AN ASHTRAY. The amp generates F mids and highs to the dash tweet and the F door mid, R mids and highs to the R door mid, and constant, non-fading bass to the 6x9 woofers in the R deck. The amp is the size of a paperback book, uses IC’s inside, and is NOT powerful.

There seems to be a very clean signal to the amp. While there are no RCA connections, this output has the same type voltage and signal as an aftermarket non-4V HU (single-ended, not differential like Bose systems, etc.). You can cut the wires and splice an RCA in with no ill effects. At this writing no amp adapter is available on the aftermarket (I’m working on it : )

Is this only for the Navi?? or Non-Navi as well...it seems as if the OEM is the same, then both of the OEM HU's would have the same type of output....

maybe someone can clear this up as I am about to install my stuff soon and i have a non-nav

thanks

Nav and non-nav are the same - both use the same amp, and have F and R OP to the amp from the HU.
