Off topic but somewhat related.... I just stopped over at a local audio shop to see if they sold Dynamat Extreme, Brown Bread, etc (which they didn't), but I asked them offhand what it would cost to cover my trunk and 2 doors... and he goes "hmm at least 500" and I say "that includes the material?" and he says "no sir, just labor. Bring in a truck and it would run over 1k"
See you soon Ron...

I have a shop pack (3 sheets of 14sq ft/each) of Cascade Audio VB-2 for sale. It is usually considered the best sheet deadener out there. It is VERY lightweight too.
It is obviously unused.
Check it out at:

It's all relative. I'm sure you've paid $$ for something in your life that another person would think is foolish. When you aren't familiar with the installation process, and you don't have any friends that are either, then you have to bite the bullet and pay to get it done (hopefully professionally). I could tear my computer down into a hundred pieces and put it all back together, but I don't cut on the people who have to take their's to Best Buy if they need help installing a hard drive. There's peace of mind knowing the job is being done right when you don't know how

well put, I understand and yesim sure ive paid for stupid tings as well, but dynamat just seems like tying shoes to me.
and pimp, id get the most dynamat extreme you can for that trunk, prolly a trunk kit and one of those 1 sheet packs would be plenty for full 1 layer
what u want pics of? the roll of dynamat? i just got it today its sweeet... and yea im not gonna hve them install it, im gonna do it myself, semms easy just need to get the roller.. any trick to it or pretty straight foward?
This was done in my Mustang. It took a long time, and smelled for about a week, but in the end killed a ton of tire & exhaust drone which was very nice. I paid $100 for 100sq feet of FatMat off Ebay. It went on pretty easy as longas you have a good razor knife, a blow dryer, and some sort of small roller to push down the mat when heating it up.
dynamat is definately worth it.
This is everything i used to do it:
Extreme Bulk Pack - 120.
Roller- 5
Heat gun- free (i have one)
Knife - free (unless for some odd reason you don't have one)
Make sure to take everything out before you start. Eye everything before you lay it down because once you do, its not a good idea to tear it off and try to reapply it.
Good luck. Its fairly simple and produces tremendous results.

what exactly needs to be covered with a trunk kit? will just covering the lid of the trunk work? Anyway to prevent the trunk for rattling on the latch, that holds the trunk down?
I've used over 90 square feet of Extreme Dynamat and i've noticed quite the difference. It was deffinatly worth the money i spent for it plus i installed it my self. Another thing that is quite cheep and works wonders is two part poly-urethane expanding foam. Don't use the one part foam that comes in a can because it reacts with oxygen and won't fully cure. The two part allows you to put it anywhere with 100% curing. I filled the hollows in my trunk lid and around the trunk with it and applied dynamat over it and there is absolutly NO rattle left to it. I also applied it to hollow areas inside the rest of the car. It really make a difference with reduction of road noise and clarity of music.
