DD is a good company but they are more toward competition. Look into Resonant Engineering another underground company like DD that you never hear of until you go to car audio competitions but they have a sub for almost anything and they are priced a little bit better. They have 5 different models ( RE, SE, SX, XXX, and MT). RE is the lowest model basically just a entry level and the MT is top of the line competition. I had 2 10" SE's in my CL and it hurt my ears. I've also seen a XXX in a Subaru Outback with 2 inches of roof flex and the rearview mirror fell off within 30 seconds of installing. Don't mean to change your mind but I'd recommend these over any sub anyday. They have the clean look like JL but at 1/2 the cost. www.reaudio.com I believe don't remember it's been a few months since I've been in the car audio scene now that i'm deaf from a work accident

I've dealt with RE and Kicker, not many complaints about Kicker besides RE handles so much better. Whatever you listen to the RE's will take, they are very tight and responsive. I've play everything from Rap to Rock to Country to straight test tones for 2 days straight.

15 is gonna need too much air space man...i need something efficent and space savin, most likely a xxx 12" because if i get a sub, i'd have to get a custom mdf box made and then fiberglass it later on.
I like how the RF 2000bd amp is lookin...fuckin huge too, could be a nice fit with a amp rack made on the top deck

I only want one sub, and when i open my trunk, I just want it to be like DAMNNN its only a 12??
My friend who owns this local shop down here introduced me to DD and man that shit had me convinced. He has a SL55 with one 8 or 10" DD in a custom ported box, i swear that shit sounded louder than two 15"s MAN.....He an authorized dealer for DD to so I wouldn't have to worry about where to get it. I think I might be able to get RE from them too.

But I was thinking if I go with one 12", how do you find out how much air space is needed? i cant really find it on the site.
deciding between the XXX and the SX...

That I dont know. But see how much you can get both for. So your amp produces 2000 watts RMS at 1ohm right.

I'm just waiting to sell my system and I figured the only way to get em is direct thru RE. Local guy is selling one for $180 in a custom box, the 12" SE, should i get it and just get another SE later on or what?

In the mean time, pix of the car I was talking about with the DD

I had a SE and I loved it. By the way I actually sold a SE to a memeber here and I shipped it to TX. I hope you are not buying mine.

But I think you are looking for a bit more. Look into the SX.

If u want a badass 12"

here my list

JL 12w7
JL 12w6v2
RE XXX or SX
Rockford power HX2 (kinda old)
Rockford T1 or T2
Elemental Design OV2
Soundsplinter
DD

and I have a JL 13w6v2 I can sell u to.
