Difference between the SNHOND3 adapter and the Icelink

Can someone quickly explain the difference between the SNHOND3 adapter and the Icelink. I know they are both for connecting an ipod, but are they both neccesary or is one only one needed to make the connection. If only one is needed, is it just a matter a preference to which one you get?

SNHOND3 is just an AUX/RCA jack. It uses a RCA -> 3.5M cable to connect to headphone jack of your iPod. This will allow you to listen to your iPod from your stock deck but doesn't allow you to control the iPod from your steering wheel controls. The Dension IceLink allows you to control the iPod from the steering wheel controls. It is really a matter of preference and your cost threshold. I personally bought the IceLink since I wanted to control my iPod from my steering wheel controls.

Exactly what I wanted to know, thanks man. I'm guessing the Icelink charges the ipod too and the SNHOND3 doesn't.

I'm gonna wait to see if the one Apple is coming out with will work on the 04 TSX. If not i'm gonna go with the Icelink too

Correct, unless you get something like the Belkin Auto Charger, the SNHOND3 does not charge your iPod while driving while the Dension IceLink does.

Take a look at that new Harman/Kardon Drive+Play unit. It looks sweet!

I saw it, but you need either Icelink or SDHOND3 before you can get that, don't you?

Also, the Icelink will work with a TSX with Navi right?

Yeah you do. It's a pricey system, but very nice. I know u just dumped a lot of money on the Ipod video though. The icelink is really good from what I've heard though. As long as you listen on shuffle or have good playlists, you'll be fine. Plus you get to keep your steering wheel controls.

Yep, I think you need another harness though. Look in the FAQ section. Or the Universal reference stickly at the top of this av section.

Yes, but you also need the Y-harness.
