Desperate for Navi knowledge...Please help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey , some crackhead took it upon himself to rip my navigation out. The screen and the reader in the trunk are now gone . The wires in the dash are in tact with the clips , but the ones in the back are slashed (3 snakes and 1 grey wire 'GPS antenna?' ) . I have purchased a new screen and I m in the process of finding a new reader for the trunk .

1. Can someone tell me if its possible to play DVDs with a stock screen ? If so , what head-unit do I need to get that will enable me to operate the navigation as well as play DVD's on the stock screen .

2. What the hell do I do about the slashed wires in the short of re-wiring the whole damn car ?

3. Is there anything I need to know about this process other than getting the pieces and plugging them back in ? I feel like that might be a LITTLE too simple lol.

Thanks so much for your help.

Steve

But that's what it's for! I can tell you that if your car came into my shop with that kind of problem, I'd send him to the dealer.

Sure. Call your insurance company. Buy the Helm manual. Find a good car stereo store. And buy any DVD head unit.

Helpful info here! Call your insurance company, then call the dealer to fix it. I wouldn't try replacing your entire navigation system yourself. You will spend about 2 years worth of insurance payments and still screw it up. Let the pros do it! You pay insurance for a reason, it's not just this payment you make just to drive the car legally. Use it!

I bet there is stuff missing that you don't even know about, a dealer mech will!
