Got my new amp from my wholeseller, hooked it up last night, played about half a song, didn't even have the radio on loud, and pop, something pops inside the amp and it goes into protection. Thought it was a fuse, but the 2 40 amp fuses were fine. Tried everything i could think of to bring it out of protection, but it's dead. Sorry, just had to rant, I'm so pissed. I just hope that my brand new 12's didn't get harmed by the amp blowing out. :angryfire

LOL, that's too funny, no actually I didn't even have a cd in, I just had it on a local rap station, with some new gay 50 cent song on. Like I said, it only played half the song, and I heard a pop on the board. And yes, my wires are all wired up right, it was def a bad amp. Luckily, since it came through a wholeseller, they're sending me a replacement, and I"m sending them back the crappy one. Let's hope this one works

 

If you're complaining about the amp, shouldn't you warn us what it was or where you got it?

 

Sorry, it's a power acoustik plasma, 1440 watt. I've never had problems with any of their other amps, and everyone i've talked to said that the amp should not have blown, it was just a bad chip or bad circuit. Hopefully my replacement won't have the same problems. I got another one of the same model, just replacing the bad one. Should be here today or 2morrow. Here is the link to the amps, it's a good amp, my boy has the revision before mine, and it knocks real hard. I think my bad amp was just a fluke.

BTW what is the I.L.S. rating on that amp? How much wattage does it take to run that plasma display?
