Debating speaker change.......Alpines all around

:killer: Hey guys! So I have had my car 2 weeks and done tint and xm but now i am thinkin it is speaker time. My last car (2003 gmc sierra) had a complete custom 3500watt system . My tsx I want to keep near stock and only want to replace the speakers. I am waiting on my pair of Alpine Type S 6x9 SPS-690A to come in on wed and put them in. With just changing these out do people notice a good sound change? Or just more bass and drop in highs? Let me know. I am thinkin of the alpine 6.5" for the doors for next months mod.

Just wait for the new JL Audio ZR component series, they should hit stores in two months or so

you really should toss the stock amp to get the most out of aftermarket speakers.

Have you considered going with one 10 inch sub with a dedicated amp, before you change the stock speakers?

I have already done the whole box in the truck thing. i like the clean sound of something closer to stock. i just want something i can a lil more clarity out of than the stock speakers. in my last truck once we started playing with all the wiring is when i had some issues with it. kinda wanna stay away. and work off a budget on this car. it is my daily commuter but it is a long commute so i need some good sounds.

I have the Alpine Type-Rs in my doors of my TSX, and Type S for the rear deck woofer. The greater clarity and clean bass is amazing, even with the stock amp. Since the TSX has so many speakers, it gets pretty loud. If you want more punch, I suggest getting a subwoofer. I'm waiting for my Type R subwoofer to come in, that should really improve on the tight bass. the only problem with the Type R in the doors is that you need to cut the doors to fit them (or use a really big spacer)
