I want to buy an aftermarket in-dash t.v. fr my 01 cls. but i was told by someone acurazine that i need to buy a dash kit. i wanted to know how much does a dash kit cost.

 

it'll usually come with the tv you buy...if you buy it from best buy or something....but you can probably get one cheap from any retailer for about under 50 bucks....

Is it a double din or flip out HU? Single din kits are made by Metra and can be had easily. I want to say it's part number 7898, but it's been awhile.

As far as a double din kit, it will need to be custom made.

 

really...so your saying most of these guys with the 6.5" screens had theirs custom put in...i thought you just get a double din kit and you should be good...i dunno im asking?

 

mine's custom....had to have it made.Yes, it will fit double din, but the size is not a double din space, therefore a double din metra kit (standard) wont work.


You know how its go the sides that are slanted???

 

You can get the Metra kit, but you will need it modified for it to fit a double din HU. It has a space for a single din and a small slot underneath it.

Yes, everyone that has a 6.5" double din HU has had to have a kit custom made.
