Hello all,
I recently noticed my 02 TL in dash cd changer makes
a metal click sound when changing disc. It sounds like
a metal spring got clicked or somthing. But everything
seems working ok, no problem inserting/ejecting disc.
But I did occasionally hear some skidding sounds
while playing CD (original or cd-r), not sure if it is
related.
Anyone experiences similar behavior. It seems not useful to
take the car to dealer because of this because stereo
seems working fine.

The CD changer sure does make some strange sounds. Sounds like little springs breaking or something.
Your sounds may be normal.

TWANG!
Mine makes that same little spring going "twang" sound when changing discs. So far I've had no trouble with it. From those of us reporting the same thing, I would have to say that it's normal.
I will warn you that it is "picky" about ejecting discs. If you have home made labels on CDRs it gets Pi$$ed. If your store bought CD has ANY burrs on the edge of it, It gets Pi$$ed.
I have had a few CDs that didn't want to eject without some help. After examination of them... ALL OF THEM had burrs on the outer ridge of the CD. Burrs that made them somehow snag on their way out. These are burrs that you can feel with your fingers and tend to make the edge of the CD a bit thicker because of them. I've deburred all of them per the owners manual that suggests using a pencil edge to rub things smooth. This technique will work but be careful NOT to scratch the bottom disc surface. If you're lucky, the problem CD will not fill the entire disc with music, and you will see blank disc space at the outer edge. On these, I've used a finger nail file to smooth them out. After that, they have ejected just fine...
Good luck!
