Control. Total driving control meets total tune control with your fully integrated BMW iPod adapter. Shift between tracks and up to five BMW playlists and adjust volume without taking your eyes off the road or your ears off the music. Or select “Random” and let the music take you to unexpected places.

Quality. Why settle for anything less than the ultimate sound experience behind the wheel of The Ultimate Driving Machine? The glovebox iPod adapter cable lets you enjoy your iPod music without the loss of sound quality that occurs with existing cassette and FM transmitter solutions.

Experience. Anyone who has driven a BMW, or plugged into an iPod, knows the pleasure that comes from experiencing the perfect marriage of design and technology. Now you can merge your driving and listening pleasures into one seamless sonic experience. What could be better?

BMW Playlist Setup. To listen to iPod music in your BMW, you can either create up to five unique BMW playlists within iTunes, or choose to listen to your entire library. Once you’ve transferred your BMW playlists to your iPod, just plug your iPod into your glovebox adapter cable, select a playlist and you’re ready to take your tunes on the road.

I have to admit, that's pretty awsome.

Alpine has announced that they have the same iPod compatibility with some of their head units with an adapter, but I've never seen the adapter launched, and I hear that they are having probs getting the new Apple Accessory Protocol to work (since it's brand new and all, probably to be expected).

Alpine might be behind this product - dunno.

i am excited to see the alpine solution, but so far I am not impressed by this one. According to BMW it will only display track number...what good is that?!?! So far the ice-link has my vote, but not my money...yet.

Hmm that's pretty sweet and it comes directly from Apple too. I'm still waiting to read a review of an Icelink in a TSX

You can do most of that with the IceLink... however, it is a nice feature.

I was really surprised when BMW did this - wouldn't you expect Acura to integrate the iPod first? It sure would be a smarter move than something practically useless like DVD-Audio in the TL. Having my iPod play and charge while in the TSX would've been brilliant though.

DVD-A and SACD just need to catch on, after listening to them you dont want to go back to stereo sound!

I have DVD-A on my 6.1 system at home, and it really is wonderfull, however in a car you are never in prime position to enjoy the surround sound, even if you tweak the individual speaker volumes. Plus, since no official high-defenition audio format has really been established yet, perhaps it would have been best for Acura to wait instead of being first on the block with a feature that just isn't as marketable as an iPod interface. I think CD-quality is fine for most drivers, and with an iPod you can have all your MP3s in 384 bitrate.

I still think that SACD is going to win the war.

icelink allows you to control ipod via steering wheel controls?

acura should fix that oem mp3 player to list id3 tags on the '05 models, or whoever they get the part from - cheapstakes...

Yep. Since the IceLink uses the SNHOND3 adapter, the head unit sees the iPod as a CD changer, and can be controlled as such. Cool, eh?
