current overload amp...help

ok, so i am just finishing my sub/amp install in my 2006 tsx. Running an Alpine MRD M1001 mono block amplifier. Ran 4 guage power from the battery, with an 120 ANL fuse at the battery. 8 guage ground grounded to the trunk. remote wire to the power outlet under the armrest. Digital readout on the amp says "CURR" or current. Looked it up in the owners manual and that warning means its been shut off due to excessive current. Why do i have excessive current? I dont know what to do to get it to work.

Please help...Thanks

Have you set the gain? Maybe it's too high. Also, your ground wire is supposed to be the same size as your power.

i would get some 4 gauge ground first and for most, Make sure your ground is also as short as possible. That being said in all my years of installing alpine amps, too much current hasn't ever been a problem, but a lack of it has been. What it sounds like is that either tit is drawing too much for your charging system to handle, your battery is about dead, your alt. is about dead, or you need to beef up the ground wire. I am betting on the ground wire.
