Compustar Alarm
i think it's similar to most remote start systems that is in the market...you must have either the AC or heater turned on before you exit the car. but that would be trick being able to control it from the remote!
I have the alarm on both of my cars and you either have to leave the ac on or have your installer hook it up as one of the optional functions, you probably can only turn it on using one of your options
on my friends car... he leaves the ac on and when he uses autostart it doesnt start... im pretty sure most other auto start would start the ac but my friends doesnt... that is why i am asking about people with compustar alarm systems... i dont care about the others
Just leave the AC (or the heater as the case may be) set to on before shutting the car off. The only thing that doesnt work this way is the rear defroster, since its relay resets itself to off when you shut off the car. To get this to work, you'd have to wire up a separate relay to activate the switch, and then use one of the spare channels on the remote. You'd have to remote start the car, wait a second for it to start, and then remember to press the second channel on the remote to turn on the defroster.

dood... i already done told u.... my friend leave his ac on when he shuts off his car... but the ac will not start when he uses his auto start option on his COMPUSTAR alarm... I already know that clifford would start your AC and many other alarms... But I am asking for those who have compustar alarms... if you dont have one please dont reply cuz u dont know what i am talkin about... U might think i am being dumb and being an a$$ but i have a friend that went thru 3 compustar on 3 different cars and i have another friend that has a compustar alarm and none of them starts the ac when using the autostart EVEN when the AC is left on
so are u telling me that out of all the 4 cars that has the compustar that i know of... doesnt start the ac is cuz the installer dont know how to ??? but when he installs other systems like the viper it actually works? all i am asking is for those who has compustar alarm system.... does ur ac work when u use autostart.... and if u dont have a compustar alarm please dont reply cuz i am assuming that u have not ran into a compustar yet...

Believe me, Steeteffectz knows his install stuff. And since I have a the Compustar alarm and I was an installer for 12 years myself, I can assure you it was a bad install (improperly wired) that is to blame. My car gets plenty cold and refreshing from my Compustar remote starter before I get into it.
As i indicated in my earlier post, the only thing that wont work without some modding is the rear defroster.

Pianoman, one of these days i am going to pull apart the dash cluster again and come up with a fix which will send a delayed ground pulse (maybe a delay of 15 seconds) via a relay to throw the defroster on after the car has started.
