components in the 2GTL

I have some 6.5 components from my previous car, do the front doors have a component set up or is it necissary to rig sumthin up?

the front of our cars only has a 6.5 inch mid
youll have to dremel out some holes for tweeters your self

thats what I thought, but where would they be able to be mounted, I think I saw a thread here that showed a custom made bracket er sumthin....

I'd use a hole-saw. Works like a charm. Although, I'm fiberglassing my doors for my components, constructing it for a fiberglass version of an aperiodic enclosure. But in my previous car, I used a hole-saw for the diameter of the tweeter and fit like a glove.

I used a hole saw on my 1st gen CL to put the tweeters in the door, and it's perfect...

I am a CNC machinist and I am in the process of machining a mounting bracket that acts as the 3/4 in. spacer needed for the 6.5, and a mounting bracket for the tweet. I am going to make it out of static dissipative polyethylene.

Nick - did you get a pair of these finished? If it wasn't a nightmare to fab (no missing fingers etc.) any chance of making / selling a pair? I'd be interested.
I'm sure it would be better than the Pie pan / Jigsaw / Bailing wire approach that I use

sorry boys..its been a long a troublesome winter and havent been around too much lately. I am in the process of drawing up the plans for the bracket, unsure if it is going to be worth it, I am still doing my homework. Get back you you with updates...
