Cobra Radar Dectector Hardwire Kit Install

http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-Hard-Wir.../dp/B004AMBW1U

I just ordered this and was looking for some insight as to the best way to install it. It comes with an inline fuse on the positive side so really my only question is where are the best places to connect it to positive, preferably in the area of the inside fuse panel, so that it only comes on when the car is on. I"m sure i'll find a good ground screw in that area so i'm really not too worried about grounding the system or how to run the wires up to the dash (i already know how to do that). I'm just a little unsure of how to wire it to turn on automatically, and what the best way is to T into a circuit. Also if theres a way to install it so that the kit is removable, so i can take it with me when/if i sell the car. Thanks fellas

you can just tap into your cigarette lighter if you want it to turn on with your car.

how detailed of instructions do you need? or are you looking for the specific color of the wire?

if you just need directions on how to wire it, IIRC you can search in 3G, there is a DIY on how to wire up a V1... that shows u how to wire it, but you firgure out where...

good luck

got it all wired up n tucked away. i wound up tapping into the radio harness's red wire and using the cigrette lighter socket's ground post. Works perfectly i still have to go back in and make it a solid connection but i have a working radar detector as of now

ehh it's alright, its fairly new n it has 9 Bands of protection. I used to use it all the time but stopped after i started getting pulled over on backroads. On the highway tho it has never failed me. Always has given me more than enough time to stand on the brake. I'll post a pic of how the install looks later today
