CL sub/amp install

CL sub/amp install
I'm in the process of installing a sub and amp in my 03 CL. I read over the DIY but am still confused about the wiring. Can somebody explain in detail what I'm supposed to do?

I'm mostly just wondering about how to wire the line out converter, and am i supposed to be cutting wires right from the wire harness that plugs into the amp.

I didn't cut any wires. I spliced into them with wire taps at the wire harness from the amp. About 4 inches up from the plug.
