circuit breaker keeps tripping
circuit breaker keeps tripping
Hey guys I need some help please. I have 2 Alpine 10" Type-X subs and a Rockford Fosgate T20001BD amp. In the trunk I added an extra Optima Yellowtop battery, therefore I have 2 batteries, one stock up front and one Optima in trunk. I have a true 4 gauge wire connecting both batteries together with a 60 amp circuit breaker up front.
So my problem is that whenever I put the system up the circuit breaker trips. The system still plays because it gets juice from the optima yellowtop.
My questions:
What makes this happen? Is it a power surge that can damage things if I put in a bigger circuit breaker?
If I were to upgrade to a 200 amp circuit breaker would this help? or would it cause potential problems?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!
