Change speakers at the front

I was asking a shop to change the speakers at the front. He said it's impossible, I must add an amp. Is this true?

dont listen to those shop guys.

you can run some aftermarkets but the stock only gives it about 20+ watts rms. if you want comps or somethign that requires a bit more then yes it is time to get an amp
