CD Text : CVA-1005 + CHA-S624
This might sound like a stupid question but i cant get my CD Text option to work. i always play Cd-R and use Adaptec to rename my songs but i can never get it to display on my CVA-1005. i can only rename the title of the CD and not view the song name. Please help...

the first question is, are you sure the cd text is actually being burned onto the cd?
if not, you wanna see if your cd burner is new enough to be capable of burning cd text. that being said, if you are running adaptec's ez cd creator 5 .. now 'roxio', you will have an option of checking the box that says "write cd-text"
I no longer have ez cd creator 4 .. but I think its somewhere in the options that you have to do something similar . there's a box where you have to tick off and say 'do it' otherwise, I dont think it'll bother to.
if you are SURE it's burning the cd-text, then I can't help ya there.. maybe there's like an option to enable the viewing of song name instead of something else.. or in the case of my older pioneer, the head unit wont do cd text but if you get a change, it will see it from the changer.

i've been using the the alpine changers for over 4 years now, and i've never been able to get the cd-text to work from them. as far as i am concerned the only way u get cd text is from alpine head units. i believe the cd-text the changers refer to is if u title them from the headunit and then take the cd out of the changer and put it back in later, it'll recognize it as the same cd that was named through the headunit. now the alpine headunits actually scroll cd-text as in artist name, song titles and album titles.
cd text is real easy with anything. i use ex 5. all you do is put all the songs on your cd. then do "Disc-At-Once" then the cd text option is available and just clikc and record. done and done. now if you did that and it still doesn't show cd text, i can't help ya. sorry. take it to the store where you got it and ask them, if worst comes to worst. maybe you can get it replaced if it is busted. hehe. good luck

It seems like either (1) your cd does not contain cd text info or (2) your system does not recognize cd text. Try the same disc with cd text on another different system. If it works, your receiver can't decode it or you need to have the receiver setting to read it. If it doesn't work, you need to check your burning soft.
