cd cleaning

I've had my tl for about two years and I always play cd's when I'm in the car constantly changing them, and I haven't cleaned the cd player yet, is it time to clean it?

The CD cleaners are only $10 bucks I think. The CD comes with these wire brushes on the bottom of the CD.

It's good to do once in a while.

You can also buy the spray thing and clean your actual CDs. I do mine once in a while....maybe 3-5 months depending if I'm lazy or not.

I don't think there is a standard of how often to clean. Just depends on the person.

I wonder sometimes about the brush-type CD lens cleaners--unless the brushes are really, really soft--I can't see how repeated uses of this type of lens cleaner over time won't wind up scratching the lens eventually. I guess there isn't much choice since the lens on an in-dash CD player isn't accessible enough so that you can blow some compressed air right on the lens itself.
