I put mine in the left rear corner of the trunk. I took out the plastic storage tray and was able to bolt the changer right to the metal. I mounted it vertically and it takes up no room. I like the factory spot but, I did not have room after my box.

I put mine under the front passenger seat facing the back. This makes it easier to get CD's in and out of without having to get out of the car.

It can be a problem sometimes with people sitting in the back seat, but if you put if far enough under the seat, you can minimize the problem.

Well mine is in the factory CD changer spot because its the factory CD changer. It also came with the rail that keeps it from getting bumped.

FTM,

what rail are you talking about? You can't mount it in the factory spot without it? Can you buy that rail separtley?

I am gonna install a honda changer out of a 2000 accord into my 2000TL. i installed it in to accord into the armrest counsel, becausei had the counsel mount kit.. but that won't work on a TL i'm pretty sure.

SO i wanna put it in the factory spot in the trunk... Does anyone know what parts i'll need? i have the changed and the cable, with the square end..

thanks !

The little rail or bar is mounted to the floor next to the changer. It just keeps stuff in the trunk from hitting the changer. It most be a part of a kit because its in my car. When I got my car new I had ordered the factory changer & this is how the dealer had it mounted. You would not need the bar to mount the changer. Its got to be a kit that you can get but not needed if your trunk is not loaded with stuff. I guess it would protect the changer if something would slide into it while making turns or braking.

okay, but how is the changer actually secured to floor in the trunk? is it bolted down??

i guess i'll try to remove that plastic cover and have a look see. Can you tell me if yours is bolted down, or if there's a slot or something where it drops into..

thanks...

vetc11,

The mounting bracket that has the bar to keep it from getting hit in the trunk holds it down securely.

I have one for sale if you're interested. If you're close to me in Mt Laurel, I'll even install it for free.

PM me if you're interested.

Neil
