So I asked my favorite Acura salesmen (who sold us both our TL and MDX) about installing a CD changer in my 96 TL and he said it would be $6,000! Thats $1k PER CD (6 disc changer). Is he joking?

Too bad you're in NJ, NSXNEXT.
Anyway He could of said $600. I'll ask again but when. You know the Acura Shop inside a dealereship? The guy at the counter said all accesories they carry for TL's are for 97-2001 models. So how can they install a new CD changer in my older 96 model?
