Be careful with the Bass cds
Thank god I bought the warrenty. I blew the JL W7 which the dealer said I wouldn't be able to blow it with the amp made for it the 500/1 JL. I been running it loud for 8 months but I bought my first "maximum boom cd for your system" the other day and it played it well for alittle bit but then it locked up the voice coil. The speaker turned to almost like a brick wall.

i dont knwo what you did to the speaker but it should not have blown. i had the 10 w7 in teh high output box for awhile on the 500/1 and i had no issues and i was playing songs with alot of bass. im running my 12 w7 on a 500/1 right nwo and it is no way near how loud the 10 w7 is in the high output. but yea i need more bass so im getting the 1000/1 for 500 buccs. so yea it should knocc alot mroe for only one 12 inch speaker. so many people now like how my system sounds for jsut one 12 because it sounds clean. my 12 is in a sealed box too.
if you are looking for a extreamly high quality sub, (I have beaten multiple JL subs with one sub,) check out conceptconcept.com I have continusly put over 800 watts (easily, my amp is a class d 1200watt) in to a mid concept quality sub and the sound quality is unmatched (personal opinion obviously). I have a concept EX-12 and havent had one complant in two years. I polan on upgrading to Concept's PT-12 (1250 watts concertivly) or if you really want something everyone will be talking about, concept has made a CSP-15 and a CSP-18, 8000watts, 1000 watts per coil RMS, 2000 watts per coil max, the speaker is a Quad-Coil in case you can't do the math. Imagine 1 speaker in your trunk, still room for golf clubs but at the same time putting out 8000 watts of bass! Check out the website, I'm from Canada and there is almost no dealers here, I have been getting my stuff from the states dealers all the time. I can easily get JL, MTX, etc......you name it , an any corner store (practically). But I happily go throught the headaches with the "custom taxes" and time delays due to shipping time to get "the best" (personal opinion again). The company started when three guys got together, they all were top guys at other companies, but they were tired of making "crap" low end equ. One from MTX, one from Coustic and one from ??? I don't want to be wrong so I won't say anything for the last company but I'm sure it was a good one. The story is on the website. check it out
