Car stereo prob. - 03tls
HELLO TO ALL
When i went to eject a cd (number 1 out of 6) the cd stereo didn't complete the ejecting function. It stopped with the cd still inside, the flap semi-open(half way)and displayed an error 1 message. I was able to take out the cd through the small gap and i though that would solve my problem but no luck. I am not able to change any of the other 5 cds still in there. Pretty much all the cds i use or burned. I checked with the local Acura dealer but the solution they offered runs me above $400 and 4 to 6 weeks with out a stereo. Any feedback/solution/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

I had/have the same exact problem. I saw a thread on here somewhere and someone listed illustrated instructions on how to take out the stereo. That's what I ended up doing. It looks a little daunting, but if you follow the instructions, it's pretty easy. After taking out the stereo, I had to sort of fidget with the stereo and slide the CDs out. I can't say the CDs didn't suffer - I'm pretty sure they're scratched on the edges where I used tweezers to pull them out of the stereo. My stereo worked fine for about two months, then the same thing happened. I think I just need to buy a new stereo.
btw, the instructions I found were posted by someone installing something called an Ice Link mp3 connector to the back of his '03 TL stereo. If you look around, you'll probably find the instructions. The only tools I needed were a couple of screwdrivers.

dealer aint going to help u at all. they will "fix" it for 400 bucks. burned CD thing is not true if they tell u thats why it brook.
rip out the old one and go to Crutchfield for all the parts.
you need a face plate adpater and any signal din will fit. wire it up with the metra harness to the 4 door speakers and wire up the sub in with this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/show...1&postcount=90
i went with a kendwood - there are no cd player that just slip right in with out the face plate.
please search this has been covered many times and is a very very common problem
if u get the Bose fixed you will still aways have problems with it. it will never stop jamming. there a many dyi's on how to take it apart and put it back together. its not hard to do and will save u a lot of money.
this is what i did

this is what mine looks like - i still have the stock speakers which sound ok. they sound better with a new head unit.
