What will it take to get a 1.5 din HU in the car? Im very close to buying a TL typeS but i have over 6,000 in audio i need to bring along. Anyone hear running 3 12s? I have a custom setup in my SS i plan on having something done for the TL as well. Where do you guys mount your tweeters for best sound imaging? I havent had time to look closely at the cars interior i just test drove one today. Could you see 2,000watts being a problem on the alt with two 1.5 ferad caps and a optima yellow top battery?
Thanks guys for your imput, i need pictures!!!! im checking out sounddomain and i dont see much
Jim
Also you guys running a ported or sealed box? Any problems getting the sound into the cabin or will things need to be ported into the deck?

I can answer a couple but not all.
In order to fit the 1.5 din you will need some brackets made to hold the HU in place and a custom plate to trim it out.
I have not seen 3 12s but, there would be no problem with it.
I have my tweeters mounted on the black panels in the corner of the window. Not the best looking spot but, to me, sounds incredible there.
Not sure about the 2,000 watts. I personally run 800 watts with no problems. With the caps and battery, should be ok.
I am using a single 12" IDMAX with 500 watts in a sealed box. Plenty of bass for me. Way more than I would ever need but, I am a SQ person and not SPL.
Hope that helps a little.

two thousand watts for three 12 in. subs sound like its too much but yes it would put a stress on your alternator according to kerchofs law volts times amp 12 v batt multiply by alternator 120 amp equals 1440 watts. capacitors really dont give power its just like a shock absorber for voltage, you could still do it and it will work but wouldnt recomend to turn it up all the way
I'm with bigboifonts on the power situation. The stock system isn't going to do it for what you're looking for. You'll need to get the alternator rewound. I'm still debating on doing it for my system as well.
You can see what I've done at my mods page. I just bought new front comps and a new amp to run them so it is still a major work in progress.

Good Luck!
in all honesty It would probably help to get the altenator rewound, but unless you are using the system to push ultra low frequencies for extended amounts of time, the two caps out to keep you out of trouble.
as for the tweeters those would be best if mounted them in the place that AcuraX2 and TopGum suggested.
as for the box, I prefer sealed as you get a little tighter bass response then you would from a sealed, of course by using a sealed bax over a ported one, you would lose a few decibels but whats a few dBs amongst friends? When you install the sub, just remove the Factory Bose sub and that will give you your port into the cabin with out having the do any major cutting or anything.
