TL: Can't get sub working in 99 Acura TL with Bose System
Can't get sub working in 99 Acura TL with Bose System
I have read as many posts as I can regarding this problem....
I am replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. I have the right connectors, and also a SUB OUT that uses RCA jacks for left and right channels.
I have the radio working perfect - except for the sub.
I have seen where you can use wires from the GREEN connector for the EQ - but I don't have a GREEN connector. Both of my connectors are BLUE - and then there is a BLACK 12p connector.
I have included some pics and some diagrams.
Can anyone please tell me what wires I need to use to make the sub work?
Thanks.

After 60 views - I have to wonder if this is really possible...
Is there anybody that has actually got this to work?
I have driving myself crazy with this thing -I tried to post some pics hoping that would help. If there is any more info that is needed, I will be happy to provide.
Thanks

Are you talking about an aftermarket sub that u have in the trunk or a stock one? not sure if yours came with one but I know my 02 did. I also have aftermarket subs that i installed myself
Heres a way you can do it. Instead of using your decks amp. bypass it and tap the new deck into the bose amp. That way all your stock speaker receive a signal. If memory serves me correctly, crutchfield sells a kit for doing just that.the plus is the bose speakers will maintain getting a 2ohm signal vs. your new decks 4/8ohm which will make the speakers play louder than it would on the new deck. If im confusing you pm me.
I called Crutchfield and they told me: "If the factory radio is replaced, the factory sub will no longer work."
I asked about a kit that would make this possible just as you described - they have no knowledge of such a kit.
I can't believe this is so difficult to find the answer. There has to be a way to get this done. I have installed MANY audio systems in cars over the years - and have not had this much trouble finding a solution. I know there has to be a way - between the 3 harnesses in the dash that were plugged into the factory deck - the wires have to be in there somewhere....
