Can amp pop be fixed?
Well I am just about finished installing my system in my 2000 TL and there are just a few issues to rectify first, then I hope to post some pics. My four channel amp (US Acoustics USX4065) has a turn on pop and I am wondering if there is anything I can try to fix it? I pulled the amp from my sisters Acura Legend, and there was no pop on it when it was in that vehicle. Thanks for any help!

No, it is hooked up to an aftermarket H/U and the amp is connected to the H/U through RCA's. It pops about 5 seconds after car is turned on. It is one single pop, not a continuous popping.

Yeah, i don't know about the H/U RCA connections, but amp RCA connections are in tight. Yes I am gettin power out of my amp, and it works great other than the initial start-up pop.

More than likely it is just the amp itself. What kind is it? Most amps have a turn on/off delay to avoid this problem but, some amps do not. I have Memphis amps and I have a slight turn off thump. The only way it might hurt is if you have it really cranked and the pop comes thru. Might strain a speaker that way.

It is a US Acoustics USX4065. If i am not mistaken this amp does indeed have a turn-on delay. Is it possibly just not set for the correct delay? (I hear on some amps you can adjust this delay)

usually something like that is caused by a grounding issue. What i would do, in this order is make sure the fuse on the constant power wire is of a high enough amperage (kind of a useless step, but do it just to be safe). make sure that you are indeed using the same guage constant power wire as your ground wire. make sure that you have a good grounding location, and if all else fails try adding a relay to the remote turn on wire.
