Burn a CD and loose your Bose CD Player

That's right. I burnt a CD last night and had no problem playing it on the PC that did the burn. I also played it on my home CD player.

On the way into work this morning, I loaded the CD and now I can eject it. It doesn't play. I can't even select the CD option on the head unit anymore.

A brand new 30K car does this? This is number 3 for issues with a car that has less the 700 miles on it. The other two are fog in my headlights and my rear bumber is warped!!

Try to press and hold eject button for more than 6 seconds.

you cant blame this on acura... since the cd player has no problem playing store bought cd's... but more than likely your cd player did not like the media you used... i had this problem once or twice and every time i did basically what silverknight said... except for one time i had to disconnect and reconnect the battery to force the disk player to eject the disk...

Sucks dude. Don't feel too bad, my 02's died at 1K miles. A friend just got a TLP, & it jammed with only 35 miles on it. He was driving it home from the dealer after just buying it. And he was using store bought CD's. Might have to do with the thickness of some CD's.

Just tried the eject button for 10 seconds. No luck. I think I'll disconnect the battery tonight when I get home. For some reason this CD has disabled the entire CD functionality. I don't even see the disc on the display and I can't select the CD funtion. Hopefully a "re-boot" so to speak, will cure the problem.

Did you put one of those printable labels on the CD? You can not use printable labels on our loadable CD decks (or other ones like it) they will get stuck. If you can see the CD through the slot, just take two credit cards, and squeeze them together on the top of the bottom of the CD player to get them pulled out. I had this problem once with a labeled CD and that got it out and my CD player has been fine since then, I just won't play that one CD!

I'd try this before disconnecting the battery and all that hassle

Dude, don't panic. I have had no less than a dozen cds stuck in my player. All you have to do is take another cd and slide it over or under the stuck cd and release it. Don't be shy. Your $30k car stereo is not that fragile. Works for me everytime.

OK, here's the latest.

The CD has no label on it.
The CD door is closed so I can't get at the CD itself.
The CD drive is spinning all the time now (EVEN with the key out of the ignition).

Called my sales rep at the dealer and left a message. Waiting for response.

Finally got an answer from Acura service. They gave me the sound and dance that Acura doesn't suppory burnt CD's and to stay away from CD with paper labels. I told him I had other burnt CD's playing in the unit and they worked up until the point nothing worked any more. I getting a whole new unit!

Acura should have NO say in whether its a burned cd or store bought. Does the manual say you can't use a burned CD?

I would bring the car to them and tell them to fix it, or take it to another dealer saying a CD got stuck and leave it at that. Screw the dealer. I've threatened the dealer that I would drive the car through their service window for bullshitting me.. I hate when people try to give the a stupid run around, especially for a Burned CD.

Hell if you want just call the dealer and order a new one, and bring the old one back saying its defective, as the new one and ask for the money back

Good Luck. DEALERS SUCK

Finally got a new stock unit installed. On the way in to work this morning I loaded it up with 6 CD's. Now I'm happy seeing this is the first time I really listened to the CD player!

Dave Mathews rocks (with this Stock unit). I can't imagine what it sounds like with some of the mod's I've seen on this board.

It turns out the CD I had wasn't burnt as a music CD. I don't know why Panasonic (I think that's the mnfg for our units) craps out when an inproper CD enters the unit??

a lot of cd players (not necessarily car stereos, either) either crap out or continually try to read incorrect cds, attempting to list tracks, find start, etc.

my 3.2 tl has a problem with burned cds also: inserting a burned cd and playing from the start is fine, but any time play is interrupted (cutting off engine, skipping to another track, etc.), the player has a hard time starting back up again. it will either take a minute or so to begin playback or spin forever.

adding more stoppage time between tracks when i burn music cds helps a bit, but i still havent found a way to totally eliminate the problem.

thats weird...

i play burned cd's alllllllll the time... no probs.

my last cl did occasionally have the problem of cd's getting stuck... sliding another CD over the stuck one as ken suggested above always fixed it.

other then that... no probs.
