Box shape question...

Is there any advantage (sound quality, etc) in using a wedge box over a standard cube box for a sub? I'm building a sealed box for my single 10x3... thanks

Well, this depends on the environment it is in, and it's surroundings. What will be in the trunk that will cause air flow to be decreased? Also, which way do you plan on facing the sub (toward the rear of the car I hope). There are a lot of other things to consider, but this is just a basic thing....or do you plan on competing?

Well heres my situation..

I'm keeping the stock system for now b/c i dont have the mulah to replace everything yet - but i wanted to start by beefing up the bass a bit. I got a JL 250/1 amp and 10w3.

I'll be putting it in the trunk, facing the back of the car. Nothing else will be in the trunk except the amp and occassionally some stuff to lug home.

This is just a personal thing - I won't be competing. I'm just looking to build my own box because I have a friend who has alot of woodworking materials and building the box wouldnt be too tough. Thanks for your help..

I'd just build to the EXACT specs supplied with the sub. The OUTER measurements of your enclosure should be 18 x 11 x 9, assuming you have a 10W3D4 and using 3/4" MDF.
