Bose Stereo Upgrade
Ok here is the deal. I need advice.
1999TL W/NAVI
I am keeping the factory HU and adding:
-Alphine MP3 CD Changer
-Sony Explode 800 watt 4 channel amp
-Kenwood 600 watt 2 channel amp
- Alpine SPR-136A 5 1/4" R-Series 160 watts Component 2-Way Speaker Door Speakers
-2 12" Rockford Punch 400watt (each) subwoofers
The people who are installing it said that they have to use a whole bunch of adapters for the mp3 changer and the amps.
Now, my first question;
1) Will my system still sound good with all these adapters or should I have just changed the HU?
2) Do you audio guys think that my system is a "decent" setup? I am not looking for anything crazy.
3)What would you recommend in terms of an overall setup for my car. (Keep in mind I want the factory HU, steering wheel remote, Navi Voice to remain functional)
I need expert advice on my system in a hurry. I am planning on doing it this week.
Any audio techs in NY. Help needed

If you're changing out out all 5 of the Bose speakers..I don't think you need an adaptor..since you're also swapping out the amp and putting in the two new ones. But for some reason I'm wrong, Blitzsafe makes an adaptor for our cars. As for your setup..only you can decide whether it's good or not. Seems reasonable for something simple.

it sounds right for the adapters, I am assuming that the installers are going to be using something akin to the blitzsafe adapter for the Changer, and then there would be the adapters to creat rca preouts for the amps (that would be either 2 or 3 adapters depending on what kind they use). I am also assuming that they will bypass the factory amp, which will help to a degree. as far as the sound it out to be definately louder (by virtue of more power) and probably sound a little better (in terms of SQ). one thing you may want to keep in mind for future upgrades to the stereo is to bypass the factory EQ so that you truly get a full range signal sent to the amps. other than that you're set right now, and you ought to be pretty pleased once it's installed.
