Blown Stock Speaker?

I hav an 06 TSX that I bought in later November. Recently, I noticed the rear passenger side speaker gives a loud pop on certain bass notes. My immediate thought is I had the radio a bit too loud, although it wasn't bad at all. I have noticed that on certain sounds, it continues to give this pop and it is really annoying. I then thought I may have blown the speaker.

Any insight as to if that is true or not? If it is blown, I would be surprised since, like I said, I never played the music loud enough to blow it...at least I thought.

Thanks.

If it's still kickin it's probably not blown but damn close to it. The POP is caused by the voice coil former catching on the piston. It will only do this if your voice coil is mis-shaped or pushed too far. A voice coil gets mis-shaped form being overheated or "pushed too far".

Turn down the BASS!!

Why would just one of the speakers be doing so?

Further, I don't have the bass maxed out nor do I play the music any louder than I did on my 97 Accord with stock speakers. C'mon, this is a little nuts...I'm not abusing the thing.

What gives?

I think that speaker is just shot then. It's not blown but it may as well be. I would replace that rear pair with something decent.
