Blitzsafe Not Compatible with 6 Disc Changer?
Hi There Everyone,
This is my first post after weeks of lurking. I appreciate all the information everyone provides on the site.
I was going to purchase a Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.1, but after looking at the description it states:
"This device is NOT compatible with any models that have the 6-disc in-dash CD changer"
So am I out of luck trying to hook up an MP3 player to my system?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

You can ABSOLUTELY use it with the in-dash 6 disc changer. We use it all the time for our customers. It's only when you are using an EXTERNAL changer that it won't work.

Ok...so their site is just wrong? I just am curious don't want to make any mistakes. I trust what you streeteffectz says....... do you have them for sale on your site? What is your price and how do I order?
Plus I was looking at adding this Alpine 4/3/2 Channel V-Power Series Amp to add to the stock deck. Is this a good choice? I am not so much looking for volume as I am clarity.
How is adding an external amp done? Basically have the installer disconnect the current amp and add in the new one? or does it just get added? As you can tell I don't know tons about this stuff, I am learning.
Plus what are some decent speakers to go along with this new amp? Like I said before...I am looking for clarity versus volume.
Oh yeah for my first performance mod I as looking at the Injen RD Cold Air Intake. I don't have tons of money to spend but am looking for a good performance for a few hundred dollars. Have nay other suggestions instead of the intake?
Thanks for your help

Hey there Street,
Got a question for you. How do I activate the item on the RCA Jack on the Blitzsafe?
I am going to get the Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.1.
I have a 2002 TL Type-S that has a 6 cd in dash changer.
Also can you confirm that I am getting the correct one for my tl?
Here is another quesstion for you![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Can I get a spliter for the ends of the RCA jacks and hook up more then one item? Obviously using only one at a time.
Thanks for your help

Once you have the blitzsafe installed, just press the CD button twice and it will access the RCA inputs from the blitzsafe. I can't remember for sure, but the display on the head unit will read 1-99 which is normal. When you want to go back to the indash cd changer, just press the CD button twice.

And if I want to plug two different inputs at the same time?
Like a MP3 and a Sat Radio. Can I do that and just turn on the one I want and it will play?
How do I wire that?
Thanks

That is exactly what I want to do. What I think I am going to do is this.
Wire the sirius radio through the right side radio panel. and attatch it to the blistzsafe with a y adapter behind the radio pannel, then for the other side of the y adapter make those the mounted RCA jacks with a switch to switch between the blitzsafe and the other set of RCA jacks. I am thinking this because I am not wanting to ever unplug the sat radio as I use it 99% of the time. But it still gives me the ability to attach any aux with the flip of the switch.
Now the problem of where to mount the RCA jacks and make them look decent.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

thats what i struggled with as well, and up till now, have still not drilled holes yet
i was initially tinking passenger side of the center console, preferably somewhere that the seat will block it (dont need people seeing the jacks, tipping them off that i have a lcd screen in dash). but i still havent found a good place, as the front bottom (nearer the radio) is too exposed, the inner bottom (by cupholders) are blocked by the rear AC vents, and the rear is blocked by the seat itself (i want to make sure it will clear the whole range of motion of the seats)
so i am still unsure of where to install those jacks.
i have seen some people who put the jacks in the coin tray or the rear flipout tray of the center console. but i'm not sure if i like to see wires running around while plugged in.
i'd love to hear other ppl's ideas as well

Here's a suggestion I heard somewhere. Get an rca to female 1/8 jack adaptor, and mount that somewhere. Then instead of having to run male 1/8 to rca's, you can run a single 1/8 to 1/8 cable. Does that make sense?

Parvo...
That is a great idea. My only problem now is where and how to mount the A-B switch so I can switch between the two inputs.
I got something similar to this:
http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=40%2D240
But it is only a 2 input one output box. So I will plug the 2 different RCA cables into the two inputs and then have the Blitzsafe plug into the output.
so with that in mind I have to find a place to mount it so that nobody will see it. Maybe behind the panel under the steering column. I could use some velcro. I am not talking about on the visible portion of that panel, but on the inside.
I believe I can reach up there by leaning over a bit, nothing harder then pull the hook lock level.
I have to think that I am not going to be switching it too often.
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks

for those who hooked up the blitzsafe, where did you guys have the wire that plugs into your mp3 player coming out of from the blitzsafe adaptor? thru the ashtray? footwell?? where?

thanks for the reply...so, let me get this straight: (1) you hook up the blitzsafe to the back of the radio (2) you hook up a Y cable to the blitzsafe (3) you hook the other end of the Y cable to the headphone jack of the mp3 player.
is this correct?
is this correct?
