hey Uni- what are you getting the it for mainly?

I chosed the red top and here is why....

The Yellow top is a slow discharge-and a slow recharge as well so in theory the yellow top may never fully recharge, reguardless the size alternator. And to insure a good lifetime of the battery it is good to plug the battery up to a charger every other week.

The Red top is a slow discharge (not as slow as the yellow top, but more so than any other battery, fast recharge and more cold cranking amps.

In another vehicle of mine I have a high output alternator installed and I had a yellow top in there as well, the first thing he told me to do was get a rep top when I went to instal the alternator. HE went into a long persuasive story about how it was a much better choice unless I was going to use the vehicle's electronice while the car was off.
Plus, I know he was not just trying to sell me a battery b/c he did not carry batteries at all. The red top is also a better choice if you are in a cold climate with the higher cold cranking amps.

just my .02 though

well with either 24 or 34, the battery is too short for the tray, so u put these spacer things on the sides of the battery, preventing the battery from sliding.

If it's a true 1500 watts you're running, you'd be better off just running a relay and adding the optima to the system as a second battery....if you have the trunk space of course

ok so now im almost positive the replacement is 24, but you can use a 34 with a spacer. With optima and using our stock plastic battery cover, u will have to dremel a little on the inside of the battery cover to make it fit over the battery.

perhaps if he was competing and needed to run the system with the car off for a period in which to show it....

otherwise an alternator would be a wise investment if he is having power issues

I agree, but we weren't talking alternators, just batteries
