Post Biggest TV screen

What's the largest TV screen that will fit in the headrests?! Looking at the Pioneer (AVD-W8000) 8" diagonal, but don't know if it'll fit. It's a real beauty...

His installs are good, but some of the amazing installs you've seen? Dude, there are some major crazy installs in the mags. NOt bashing on STreet or nothing...just his customers probably don't got the $$ those guys in teh mags do.

I think 6.5's look good in the head rests. I haven't seen bigger.

MIGHT, and I stress MIGHT, be able to squeeze the 8" widescreen in but I doubt it (or just have the headrest modified to fit it...make it a little bigger, no problem, not the first time, won't be the last). Our headrests aren't that wide. You could go with a 7" widescreen though (like the ALPINE). Those actually require less meticulous work than the modules from Santeca that I use. BUT, I'm currently putting 4 7" Alpine Widescreens in an Expedition (each seat back, each visor...yes, they fit in the visor with some modification). This dude is spending around $16,000 for audio/video set up.

Hey, I heard the Alpine screens go for a lot more than Santeca. how much is the price difference in them? Thanks Streetz.

Hey Street,

What do you think the widest (overall, including mounting hardware)screen that will fit is or that you have installed. The Pioneer 8", is 8.75" in total width. Whatta think?!

Biggest one I have personally done is the 7" Alpine Widescreen. 8" are no different, just bigger. For the TL, 7" widescreen is about the biggest without getting into any crazy modification. Here's a pic with the 7" Alpine widescreen held up to the TL headrest:

The model # on these Alpines are TME-M750. Awesome monitors. The Santeca's in my car are 641M (6.4" screen) and they are excellent as well, nice resolution, excellent picture. I use them most often in headrest/visor installs unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Ya, I thought yours were Santeca's! They look great. Are they easier to install than an Alpine or Pioneer? How wide is the TME-M750A?

They are both about the same to install, the Santeca is easier "modification wise" as far as the foam and all in the headrest is concerned. The Alpine is a 7" widescreen. THANKS for the compliment by the way!

We ALWAYS remove the seats when doing headrest screens so we can run the wires with the factory harness under the seat to avoid binding of the wires. That and it's just more professional looking with the wires all coming and going out the same places.
