I contacted a local shop that does some custom work and they said Bestkit is coming out with a dash kit for the 2001-3 CL navi and non-navi. It should be release in a month for $25-$30 (typical cheapo black plastic kit).

So for those of you who are not looking for something GORGEOUS and totally custom (Streeteffectz), it will be available.

Sorry, no pics. The owner of Streetnoyz in San Diego told me he spoke the R&D of bestkits and they said it should be released in a month. I'll see if I can find more info.

 

spoke with my sales rep at aamp. best kits is currently making protoype kits and should release them by the beginning-mid of july. i will start a group buy if anyone will be interested.

How weird is it that a car has been out for 3 years, and no one has made a kit for it? Tweeter audio is charging me $125 for the custom HU dash kit.

 

You should be happy to get an offer like $125 from tweeter...when I asked the ones around socal, they said $300 for something not painted or $1000 flush & painted! I later got a local shop (streetnoyz) to make one for me for almost half the non-painted price.

 

so how much does this dashkit offered by streetnoyz go for? i was thinkin about takin my car there sometime this week

 

hear anything yet. I dont know about tweeter. I had them do a custom dash in my 01 cl and i wasnt very pleased with the end results. It really wasnt that bad but im picky. I dont want to spend another 200+ to get a custom so have been waiting to install my alpine. Im almost ready to sell it because i dont want to wait anymore.

 

Brianlin & Brian6sp - I paid $195 otd. It's stained aluminum. Tell Paul Ronnie sent you. If you don't want to drop that much cash, ask around for the Metra kit (single din with pocket).

I used to work at a car audio store and we used best kits and metra kits. The best kits weren't of the best quality, the metra kits were much better. I just contacted my metra contact to confirm that metra is making kits for 99 and up TL and 01 and up CL. They are available now. The part number is 99-7868 from metra. You should be able to get them from a metra dealer for 15-20 dollars.
