well I want start with the speakers and was wondering which ones would perform quite well with the stock amp for now and with an aftermarket amp later.

Exactly. For the stock amp, it's a no-brainer! The past couple of weeks, I have just been even more impressed with these speakers.... Love it! Could use a tad more power at times, but most of the time, it's plenty. I think most people would be pretty happy with it, but some of y'all are power-mad (and hearing-deficient ).

Although, if you want to add amplification, you might have to change some things around. Like, I think the fronts would be great amplified, but you'd need to redo the crossover, if I recall what Elduderino said. The 6x9s work great with the stock amp, but might not be the best amplified, I think he also said. I think it's hard to find something that is optimal for one situation and optimal for the other with no changes, but I'm sure if you explained your plans to Elduderino, he'd figure out what you need.

If you search, you can probably find other suggestions. But it's easy to get speakers which really won't do well without amplification, so if you want to use the stock amp for a while, choose carefully....

 

Whoops, in case you couldn't tell from the avitar, I have a TSX. The concerns about power might be different for the other models....

 

well Ken makes a kit for the CL as well, and the results were just about the same as the TSX. I believe the first person to even have avincar speakers was GoDucksCLSPride, who has a CL-S

I don't think Elduderino is around anymore... I tried PMing and e-mailing a few weeks ago with no response.

Just hoping he's on vacation or something, I'm dying to get rid of the crap stock speakers in my CL-S.
