when you say tuner are you refering to a tv tuner or a am/fm tuner.... and to be quit honest i dont think any of the units have the tuners built in usually it is a sperate box that you put under your seat or in your trunk but i could be wrong.... as far as the best model on the market it is all based on your taste and what functions you want..... i have the pioneer avx-p7300dvd it does evey thing i need it to do and then some that is why i choose it but you really cant go wrong with any of the big names... alpine, kenwood...etc...etc... search on the web and find a unit that gives you the options you want for the price you are willing to pay....
here maybe this site will get you started... www.carmedia1.com

I was at Tweeter's recently and the salesperson showed me a model by Kenwood or Panasonic(can't remember which one) that had tuner, dvd/cd, etc in one in-dash unit.
He said it was the only model out that had everything included in a single unit. It was listed in the store for like 2400 buck, but I'm sure you can get it cheaper online or something.

Yeah, all the H/U with screens have hideaway modules(brains). But if actually is better when u want to add a new component to ur system.

That's the Kenwood KVT910DVD. I have this radio brand new in the box that is going on ebay today or tomorrow. Pioneer also makes one that is a 7" screen, which I put in my girls car. Big advantage to the kenwood is it's touchscreen The Kenwood retails for 2800 and the pioneer package is 2400-2600 (depending on which brain you get). And yes, these are both hide-aways (the pioneer is automatic and the Kenwood you push down and it goes away like the eclipse I used to have).

I like my Alpine CVA-1006...it covers all the bases, it's only downfall is that it does not have a CD built in (if you want this then go with the CVA-800). On the other hand it's brain allows you to add anything you want...

another down fall of the alpine units is that you have to have a seperate dvd player when the kenwood and pioneer and even clarion have the built in dvd player... this is the main reason i did not get the alpine...

Although i want to get alpine yes there units are limited ...id like a unit that plays cd's and dvd's in dash and mp3's if possible....i only seen one unit that offers this so far but that piece was over 2000 without the cd/dvd changer. im looking to get this combination with the best possible features and within a resaonable price range .... i just dont wanna have to pay more then i have to , to get what im looking for. Keep posting more suggestion as im not ready to buy yet and i am still doin research and any sites that you see with great prices id appreciate also,,,,thanks guys.

I have the factory NAV.

One thing you may want to consider if your heart is set on Alpine...they now make a 6 disk DVD/CD Changer that works with their radios. I've got my DVD/CD player (single disk) mounted in my dash, right above the CVA-1006.
