Before you guys buy an AVIC-D1 or N2

Just to give everyone a heads up, the AVIC-N3 is coming out as well as AVIC-D2. From what I've been told, D2 will have dvd video decoder.

So unless ur getting a crazy crazy deal on it, maybe you might want to hold off til CES comes up.

do you have a release date yet? most products like this dont come out until well after CES. If you guys remember the D1 wasnt really on the market until sometime in late march early april, and as we all know, CES is the first week of January

i'm sorry my sources were incorrect, it will actually be called the AVIC-Z1
It will be a Harddrive based Navigation system with a DVD-Rom Drive for DVD-Video Playback and CD Playback. Double Din Touchscreen.

I hope there'll be a single DIN version of some sort that would go in place of the storage bin. Otherwise, how would you fit a double DIN in a TSX without modifying the centre stack?

"As for entertainment, the AVIC-Z1 can playback digital music files stores on its hard drive, displaying information on the music collected from the online Gracenote CDDB Music Recognition Service. Other features in this vein include DVD video playback when fed to a separate monitor, CD-MP3 playback capability, AM/FM/XM (optional)/Sirius (optional) and complete control of an attached iPod when an optional adapter is used."

Quoted from http://news.designtechnica.com/article8708.html

So cant play DVD's on its LCD screen? It says you have to feed it to a separate monitor?

BTW, Ron(Streeteffectz), can you retrofit this on the TSX headunit for me when comes out?

I'm sure there will be a bypass available so you can do front seat video.
